The City of Barron created a full-time City Administrator in 2016. The City Administrator receives direction from the Mayor and City Council. This position is responsible for the general overall administrative operations of the City, including creation of city policies; management decisions; city budget development and oversight; planning; grant writing, human resources and community/economic development. Also, fulfills statutory requirements of Clerk and Treasurer chapters 62.09(11) and 62.09 (9) of the Wisconsin Statutes.
As the County seat, the City of Barron has a diverse population of 3,500. A full-service City, the municipality has 24 full time employees and a $2.3 million budget. Current issues: human resources, internal reorganization, economic development, planning and aging infrastructure. Appointed by a 7-member City Council, Liz serves as the first City Administrator for the City of Barron. She was appointed to the position in June, 2019.
